College Interns Participate in OICF Professional Development Institute
The OICF produced a Professional Development Institute with students from its member institutions with gracious help from the Pamplin School of Business Administration, University of Portland on June 8-9, 2006.
The OICF offered students from all ten of its member institutions the opportunity to participate in the Oregon Management Internship. Students that were accepted to the Oregon Management Internship attended the Professional Development Institute where they learned about Oregon’s role in the Global economy and job hunting. Key speakers included: John Mitchell, Western Region Economist, U.S. Bank, Duncan Wyse, President, Oregon Business Council, Phil Keisling, SVP for Marketing & Business Development at Hepieric, Inc., and Former Secretary of State of Oregon Gillian Floren, Publisher, Oregon Business Magazine, along with other area professionals.
Thursday’s events were aimed at informing students about Oregon’s current economic state. Friday’s theme focused on the culture and practice of work.
Students brainstormed products and services Oregon could employ in the future to keep its competitive advantage in the global economy.
